Everything that used to live on the long homepage

Bookmark-friendly sections keep the same anchors (`#admin`, `#teachers`, `#parents`, and more) so old links still work.

We do

Use DailyDotKids for this

  • Daily classroom records and parent communication
  • Staff hours you can review in the Admin app
  • A document vault with expiry reminders
  • Tuition invoices and Interac tracking
  • Fire drill & safety logbook per location
  • Policy library with staff acknowledgments
  • Licensing visit export packs

We do not

These stay out of the product

  • We do not take or process parent payments
  • We do not make your centre licensed or certify you as compliant
  • We do not email invoices or the classroom activity feed — those stay in the apps
Your Admin app

Run locations, compliance, and licensing from one place

This is the owner and director app. Set up the centre, invite staff and families, review hours, and keep the records licensed centres typically need.

Vault, safety logbook, policy library, and licensing export are on the Paid plan. See how this maps to licensed child care.

Your Teacher app

Teachers log the day — and stay on top of compliance

Staff check children in and out, record meals, naps, photos, and notes from the class roster, then clock their own hours.

Policy acknowledgments and certificate uploads require vault and policy library on the Paid plan. See compliance features for licensed centres.

Your Parent app

Parents see the day — and manage tuition in one place

Families get the activity feed, photos, daily reports, and your bulletins on their phone. When billing is enabled, they also view invoices and track Interac — they still pay you outside the app.

Tuition billing and invoice downloads require the Paid plan. See tuition reporting.

Tuition reporting

Set fees, track invoices, and get alerts — without becoming a payment app

DailyDotKids is not a payment platform. We help owners set monthly tuition, send invoices, record Interac payments, and keep parents informed. Families still pay the centre directly.

Fees at every level

Set a monthly amount for the whole daycare, then override by location, class, or child when a family needs a different rate.

Invoices & yearly receipts

Invoices are created for the next month and can also be sent one-off. Print PDF invoices and a yearly child-care expense receipt from recorded invoices — useful for records, not a tax form.

Interac tracking & alerts

Parents see Interac instructions, tap when they've sent payment, and you confirm in the Admin app. Push alerts cover new invoices, payment submitted, approved or rejected, reminders, and overdue balances for owners.

Notifications

Push and email alerts — and when we send each

Families and staff hear about the day in the app. Email is reserved for invitations, credentials, and compliance reminders that should still arrive if the phone is off. Billing invoices are push-only — we do not email them.

Push notifications

In the apps

  • Parents: new activity, photo, bulletin, and daily report ready
  • Parents: new invoice, payment reminder, Interac approved or rejected, yearly receipt shared
  • Admins: teacher clock in/out, long clock-in sessions, and new waitlist entries
  • Admins: parent marked Interac sent, and overdue tuition
  • Teachers: student info updated, and class reassignment (on a personal phone, not a shared tablet)
  • Everyone with vault on: credentials expiring or expired; teachers also get missing-ECE reminders

Each person can turn individual push types on or off in Settings.

Email

In the inbox

  • Invites: teacher, parent, admin, and owner invitations (and resends)
  • Account: password reset, device PIN, vault PIN, and account-deletion codes
  • Teachers: class reassignment
  • Vault: credential expiring or expired, plus a weekly missing-ECE digest for owners

We do not email invoices or the classroom activity feed — those stay in the apps (push alerts only).

Data safety

Built to protect children's and staff information

Daycare records include health details, emergency contacts, and credentials. Centre records are stored in Canada (including USA centres). We encrypt sensitive fields in the database, encrypt vault files at rest, and hash passwords and PINs so they are never stored in plaintext.

Stored in Canada

Your centre’s records — the database, classroom photos, and vault files — are hosted in Google Cloud in Montreal. Push and email alerts may travel through the networks that deliver them to phones and inboxes.

Encrypted in the database

Allergies, dates of birth, emergency contacts, activity notes, daily-report PDFs, phone numbers, and vault document details are encrypted at rest with AES-256 before they are stored.

Encrypted vault files

Immunization records, consents, CRCs, certificates, and other vault uploads are stored as encrypted files — not as open documents on disk.

Hashed passwords and PINs

Account passwords, vault PINs, and shared-tablet PINs are one-way hashed. We cannot read them back, and a database copy is not enough to log in as a user.

Questions owners ask

Short answers before you email

How do I get started?

Download the Admin app and tap Start on Free (email + password), or fill the signup form for a guided setup. Teachers and parents still join with invitation codes from you.

What does the Free plan include?

Core classroom tools with capacity limits — 1 location, 1 class, up to 8 students, daily activities, and parent communication. Compliance tools (vault, billing, safety logbook, licensing export) are on the Paid plan. See Pricing for details.

How do I upgrade to Paid?

Email hello@dailydotkids.ca or use Connect with us in the Admin app. Paid unlocks unlimited capacity and full compliance features.

How do I register my centre?

Self-serve: Admin app → Start on Free. Guided: fill the signup form or register page and we contact you. Licensed centres in Canada and the USA can apply. Production data is stored in Canada.

Is there a free option?

Yes. Self-serve centres start on our Free plan at no cost. Upgrade to Paid when you need more capacity or compliance tools. Compare plans.

Is this only for British Columbia?

No. The product is the same in every province and territory. Licensing rules are local — see the Compliance page for official government links.

How does the pilot program work?

Pilots are arranged with us after you contact us or email hello@dailydotkids.ca. We agree on scope, duration, and post-pilot options before you go live. You can also start immediately on our self-serve Free plan in the Admin app. Compare plans.

Do you email invoices or daily classroom updates?

No. We do not email invoices or the classroom activity feed — those stay in the apps. Families and staff get push notifications; email is for invitations, account codes, and vault expiry reminders. See Push and email alerts.

Do you take parent payments?

No. Parents pay you directly, usually by Interac. The apps track invoices, who marked payment sent, and whether you confirmed it.

What devices do we need?

Admin, Teacher, and Parent apps are on the App Store and Google Play. Teachers can also share one classroom tablet and switch with a PIN. Owners start in the Admin app (Start on Free) or contact us for a pilot; teachers and parents join with an invitation code.

Does this make our centre licensed or compliant?

No. You remain responsible for your licence. DailyDotKids helps you keep records and reminders; it does not certify you.

Where is our data stored?

Centre records — the database, photos, and vault files — are hosted in Google Cloud’s Canada region (Montréal), for centres in Canada and the USA. Push notifications and invitation emails may travel through the services that deliver them to phones and inboxes.

How do teachers and parents get accounts?

Once your centre exists — Start on Free in the Admin app, or after we set you up — you send invites from Admin. Staff and families join with a code. This website form is for owners asking about a pilot or guided setup.

Who builds DailyDotKids?
